CERTFICATION OF DEATH FOR JOSEPH C. TAYLOR

I, Thomas M. Allen, Captain of Company "I", 41st Regiment, 2nd Indiana Cavalry having personal knowledge of the facts, do hearby certify that Joseph C. Taylor who was a private of my said company, contracted the disease of "dysentary" on or about the 3rd day of August 1863, at or near Fayetteville in the state of Tennessee from exposure while on Picket duty. That said disease was not contracted or brought on by any _____ or ____ of the said Joseph C. Taylor unavoidable exposure while in the discharge of his duty under command of his officer. I further certify that said disease of Dysentary was very violent and that the said Joseph C. Taylor died thereof on the 27th day of August A.D. 1863.
