. Family History I come from Scottish, English and German ancestory. I can trace the English part of my family (Ketcham) in the United States back to Cambridge, England and 1690 Puritan Ipswich, Massachusetts and further back to the Dane invasions of 851 to 1015. The Scottish side (Hamilton) can be traced to 1500s Isle of Arran. My English descended ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War and were early settlers in Kentucky. My great-grandfather (5x), Thomas Mitchell was a captain from Kentucky during the War of 1812. My great-great-great uncle, John Ketcham, was an Indiana indian fighter, legislator and judge. My great-great grandfather, Joseph C. Taylor, was a Union cavalry soldier during the Civil War and fought in Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.
